From early on, we are molded into the person we are by our surroundings. So what happens when you step out away from those surroundings you are made of? Sometimes fear, anxiety, just the not knowing about something keeps us doing the same things over and over. I learned early on that I like to know what is on the other side, I want to see it, experience it, taste it and more. Stepping away from what you know is what travel is all about. Going to new places, tasting new food, doing things you never imagined you would do. The best part about travel also might be meeting new people. This is by far something that I cherish, knowing that some of my best friends are people I have met on a vacation. So next time you see an advertisement for a cruise or a hotel or resort you know nothing about, why not think to step away from what you know and book that trip.

It might be the best thing you ever did.

Having fun figuring out what you like best

As they say, variety is the spice of life! So why not try as many different things as you can. I prefer to travel with friends, small groups, big groups, and of course my husband who has come to love luxury cruises. Our experiences took us from short trips on large ships, to long trips on small, luxury ships. Having different experiences helps you find out what you love and what you can or cannot do without.

Knowing WHY you want to travel is important as well. Are you seeking adventure? New foods? New people? Or longing for a beautiful historical city tour? Asking yourself why and what are super important to figure out what trip is best suited to your desires.

Keep trying new hotels, resorts, cruises and historical tours. Having fun figuring out what you like best in travel is more fun than you can imagine.

The love of nature and all things with water

For most of my life, I have been a water child. Swim, swim, swim. Every day in the summer, that is when NY weather would allow. Having parents that were total beach lovers, had us treaking the East Coast every summer to find that next favorite beach and Dads new favorite fishing spot.

Water is my zen, animals of all kinds are my favorite thing to watch. Being in nature and surrounding yourself with all things green, blue, bright, sunny and of course sometimes white with snow, can bring such joy and relaxation. I find nothing better then spending a day on windex blue water in the Bahamas in a shiny new speedboat. The endless blue water never gets old.

If you love all things nature and consider yourself outdoorsy, get out there and find a way to immerse yourself in it. Take a cruise, find a beach resort, hike in mountains, just get out there and enjoy every breathtaking view that Mother Nature has to offer.
